Bryant Terry's cookbook (not low fat) suggested pairing music with each dish so taking a page from him I suggest New Orleans Jazz.

This week's meal plan recipes are Cajun Chickpea Cakes, Soul Burgers, Cajun Meatloaf, Maque Choux, and Lower Alabama Cavier.

Today is Chicken Noodle Soup day! Why bother with chicken when you can make a comforting, warm bowl of soup with chickpeas? Try HH's Chickpea Noodle Soup instead ;)

Chickpea Noodle Soup
Serves 8

Ingredients:
1 whole carrot, skinned
2 whole celery stalks
1 small onion, diced
10 whole cremini (brown) mushrooms
8 cups vegetable broth
1 tsp yellow miso paste
1 tsp tamari

Happy Herbivore in Europe: Oktoberfest Day 1

I don't know why Germany has such a bad reputation for being anti-veg. Both this trip, and my trip 5 yrs ago, I had no problem finding vegan options. What really has impressed me is that the trains in Germany take care to offer veg fare...even with icons indicating what is vegetarian.

Anyway after Hamburg, Berlin & Cologne I'm in Munich.... with Scott, my best friend Jim, his girlfriend, his sister and her friend Craig.
