Has this happened to you?
A recipe calls for 1 cup of COOKED rice…
but you have NO IDEA how much dry rice is needed to make 1 cup cooked?
OR you buy a bag of diced onions, thinking it’ll save you time (it totally will!) but d’oh ! How much should you use to replace one onion in a recipe?
Or perhaps after watching my Batch Cooking LIKE A BOSS video , you decided to cook a bag of dry beans… and how much would replace 1 can in a recipe?
What about frozen, sliced bell pepper strips… how many equals a bell pepper?
And what if you wanted to cook a recipe in your crockpot…. or pressure cooker instead??!
Well my Herbies, I have the ULTIMATE Ingredient Conversion Table for you.
It’s a PDF and totally free! Enter your email address here to get it .
Print it and tape it to your pantry door :)
BUT DON’T GET CRAZY TECHNICAL
Cooking isn’t technical, it’s a story of ingredients… and a love story with yourself and your health.
Treat cooking like a feeling --- let your heart and intuition guide you.
Don’t hold a recipe captive... unless you’re baking .
(Baking requires an exact science)
When it comes to soups, stews, and other savory dishes, a little more or less of a spice or an ingredient generally is fine, provided the tweaks are to YOUR tastes.
This Cook Like a Pro Series is all about making you the best home cook you can be… don’t become a cooking engineer ;)
