I cook a FEAST on Thanksgiving. Every year, without fail, I make way more food than we (and our guests) could ever eat. I can't help it, but my guests are always happy to take home leftovers ;)

This year, we celebrated Thanksgiving early since my parents, Mama and Papa Herbivore, were visiting us in California.

Here's my menu this year: (all recipes were gluten-free and from my new cookbook Happy Herbivore Holidays & Gatherings !)

  • "Cheese" Ball (p. 46)
  • Thanksgiving Loaf (p. 15)
  • Traditional Stuffing (p. 20)
  • Mashed Potatoes (p. 18)
  • Steamed Green Beans
  • Corn Bread (p. 19) (two ways - one was GF)
  • Thanksgiving Gravy (p. 16)
  • Cranberry Sauce (p. 23)
  • Pumpkin Pie (p. 24)
  • Rum Cake (p. 40)

My plate: Cranberry Sauce, Traditional Stuffing, Thanksgiving Loaf, Thanksgiving Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Steamed Green Beans & Cornbread.

The secret to cooking all this food (and staying sane... and not making a huge mess...) is to plan. I also love a good prep sheet with a detailed "game plan".

Here's mine from this year (you can find more information about how to create your own game plan in Happy Herbivore Holidays & Gatherings !):
