I spent thursday and friday shooting cooking videos for my new book and oh.my.goodness. TV/film is hard work!
Have you ever watched a sport or dancer and thought "that looks so easy!" and then you go try it and realize what looked like a short, leisurely walk is really an uphill marathon? That's what film is like. I thought it would be a piece of cake, especially because I speak at conferences and do demos so frequently but no. Film is a whole other caliber.
I was so utterly exhausted in my brain and body after the first day I didn't know how I'd make it through the second -- and I'm in good shape! Thankfully I had a wonderful producer who held my hand and walked me through everything (and apologized when I had to make the same recipe three times).
Many of my friends in LA tease me for living here but having no desire to be an actress or work "in the biz." Now I have a great answer for them "it's too much work!" Seriously, I have so much respect for actors, filmmakers and anyone in this industry now.
Anyway, here are some pictures from filming -- enjoy!
Day 1 (before filming commenced)
The mess we made in my friend's apartment.
I realized by the second day that having my ingredients in order that they were used made it easier to remember the recipe without having a script or lines to read ;)
