Nut milk is a staple in any vegan diet. If you haven’t already heard, it’s true- you can milk nuts.
Well, kinda.
In today’s market, you can find tons of ready-to-drink nut milks- almond, cashew, macadamia- you name it! However, be wary of these store-bought versions- many brands use very little nuts in the product, and may include harmful additives, such as carrageenan.
Many types of nuts can be transformed into creamy, flavorful milk with just a few simple steps. Nut milks are excellent choices for baking, cooking, or just simply adding to your morning coffee. Try out this easy recipe for homemade almond milk next time you find yourself needing a milk-fix!
