Meet our Herbie of the Week: Rebecca A.!
After years of struggling with her weight and being unhappy with her overall health, Rebecca decided to make some changes to her diet by eliminating meat and dairy. Before she knew it she started to lose weight and was able to move around without being in pain.
As much as Rebecca liked the results, it wasn't until she went fully plant-based and focused on health rather than size that she saw ...
Meet our Herbie of the Week: Stacy!
Stacy is another great example of how quickly one can experience the many health benefits after switching to plant-based diet.
Since ditching meat and dairy products three months ago, she's lost 20lbs without even trying and is already seeing her health improve, including her fibromyalgia!
Here's Stacy's experience in her own words...
Being one of the biggest lovers of bacon (I'd even want to eat the bacon roses people ...
Meet our Herbie of the Week: Rob!
I heard about Rob's amazing transformation when his wife April posted the following on HH's Facebook page:
"Yay! My hubby has finally crossed over into Herbieland! We were at a market where they hand out samples and they had a lentil English pea medley to try so I took one. He grabbed it from my hands and yelled no it has cheese on it...what he did not know is I ...
Meet our Herbies of the Week: Sherry & Kerry!
Last month I asked on Facebook, "Did switching to a plant-based diet change your life?", and Sherry was one of the many people who replied -- and I'm SO happy she did!
After suffering a lacunar stroke at 52 years old, Sherry and her wife Kerry promised each other they would never go back to the unhealthy lifestyle they were living. At first they tried a plant-based diet as an "experiment", but once they experienced the many benefits (which included Sherry reversing her T2 diabetes), it became their way of life!
Oh, and did I mention they've lost a combined total of nearly 275lbs!?
Here's Sherry & Kerry's story in their own words...
Our story truly begins on January 21, 2012 when I suffered a small lacunar stroke in the right thalamus of my brain. I was 52 years old and my partner Kerry (now wife) was 49. I had also been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998, but other than having MS I had always assumed I was healthy despite weighing almost 300 pounds. Denial is a tricky head game. When I was admitted to the hospital the night of my stroke, my blood sugar was in the 400 range and my blood pressure was 200/150. They told me the stroke was a direct result of lifestyle diseases: undiagnosed high blood pressure and Type II Diabetes. They said I would have to immediately go on medications to correct this, and that I would be on them for the rest of my life. They did not mention correcting my diet; they did not mention how to make changes. The day I was released from the hospital I was handed a pamphlet on diabetes and stroke and was sent home with a bag full of pills and a lot of fear and uncertainty.
In years past I had dabbled with vegetarianism, going in and out of it as my mood suited. Kerry had consistently been a vegetarian since the 80’s but would cook ...
Meet our Herbie of the Week: Holly!
A couple months ago, Holly sent me an email about her experience since going plant-based:
"My hubby is a preacher and was out of town this Sunday. We asked our congregation to submit questions they would like for me to answer during the sermon time. I picked the top 20 and nervously stepped up front to give my answers to easy questions like, "How did you and Adam meet," to more difficult questions ...
